LGBTQI+ Support Services in Haringey (and Nationwide)
LGBTQI+ is an umbrella term, meaning: lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer or questioning.
All communities can experience mental health problems, but the LGBTQI+ community are more likely to experience certain problems to do with self-esteem and mental health. Being LGBTQI+ doesn’t cause these problems, but can be caused by stigma, discrimination and difficult experiences coming out.
Embracing your LGBTQI+ identity can also have a positive impact or your mental health and wellbeing, if you have the right support and feel accepted by your community.
We want to make sure that LGBTQI+ people in our Haringey community feel supported and accepted. We have put together a list of resources (both local and national), where you can access support for your mental health in an environment where you feel safe and respected.
