What is it?

New Journeys Care Leavers Project is a safe space for care leavers to come to unwind, relax and get creative and have fun in a nonjudgmental space that does not require disclosure of anyone’s past experiences, but promotes healing through meditation, creativity and empowerment.

Who is it for?

This project is specifically for care leavers that need an outlet from the demands and pressures of being a care leaver living in Haringey.

Our aim is to provide a free space for care leavers to be their selves, where they can heal and grow and be ready to adapt to life after leaving care with knowledge, confidence whilst feeling empowered and hopeful for their future.

“Don’t let the lessons, the experiences of the past, dampen your enthusiasm for beginnings. Just because it’s been hard doesn’t mean it will always be that difficult.”
– Melody Beattie, Journey to the Heart

How does it work?

New Journeys will support care leavers in making informed decisions by providing them with techniques and tools to manage their mental wellbeing, to learn how to be organised and plan for their future with the understanding of what support is available to them in their community and beyond.

Sessions will include food with the opportunity to also get involved and cook for the rest on the group, meditation, activities, days out and creating their New Journey with their own New Journeys Handbook.

Sessions every Friday 1 – 4pm.
